Article Tesla Hires Audi Executive Peter Hochholdinger as Its New Vice President of Vehicle Production Image

Tesla Motors has announced it has hired Audi executive Peter Hochholdinger as its new Vice President of Vehicle Production, which comes shortly after the exit of two senior production managers.

Hochholdinger will be responsible for scaling up the manufacturing program for the newly announced Model 3, in addition to managing production of the Tesla Model S and Model X.

While working at Audi, Hochholdinger was in charge of overseeing the production of 400,000 vehicles per year, encompassing the A4, A5, and Q5 automobiles.

At Tesla, Hochholdinger will have his work cut out for him as the company has already received 400,000 preorders for the Model 3, far more demand for the vehicle than Tesla has manufactured to date.
