Tesla Is Developing New Glass Technology for its Model 3

In a recent conference call, Elon Musk announced that the Tesla Model 3 will feature new glass technology similar to SolarCity’s solar roof shingles.

At the moment, Tesla has its own special glass technology group working on developing the glass tiles for the Model 3, of which Musk is extremely high on.

“It is using a lot of techniques from the automotive glass business and, in case it wasn’t obvious with the announcement, Tesla has created a glass technology group with some really phenomenol people,” Musk said on the call.
