Have you ever wanted to turn styrofoam into metal? If you haven’t, you probably will now…

Grant Thompson recently released a video demonstrating how to turn any styrofoam object from a foam board, foam housing insulation, or even craft blocks into solid aluminum.

After choosing your foam creation, drop it into a a 5-gallon bucket filled with sand, where you will then pour melted aluminum cans into your buried foam cast.

The foam will then vaporize instantly as liquid aluminum rushes in to take its place, eventually creating a solid aluminum model of whatever you placed in the sand.

It’s no high tech 3D-printer, but for my money, its a cooler and much more interesting process to partake in!
