A top executive from Airbus has announced that the company is making good progress when it comes to the sale of its defense electronics activities.

The assets, which are value at around 1 billion euros, were expected to be sold by the end of December, but of course with this type of deal Airbus is taking the proper time to get it right.

When asked whether or not a deal had been reached, Chief Strategy and Marketing Officer Marwan Lahoud, who is in charge of the negotiations, told Reuters, “It is progressing well.”

While no one involved in the negotiations seems willing to talk much, rumor has it that Carlyle and KKR are the two front runners after putting in some high offers.
