Boeing recently announced its plans to up production of its 737 series in order to keep up with increasing demand.

Airbus is taking more of a cautious approach, saying the company will examine supply chain and other conditions before deciding whether or not to increase production levels to keep pace with Boeing.

Airbus Sales Chief John Leahy told reporters at the Istat Europe conference in Istanbul, “We are not going to chase marginal production…and we will not take marginal deals just to keep up volume.”

However, Leahy hinted at potentially increasing production of the company’s larger model A350, which is currently set at 10 jets a month.
